Who are we to judge?

Who are we to judge?

Today's society has a norm that all of us must be perfect in everything we do. Well sorry to break it to you my friend, but there is no possible way we can ever be perfect, no matter how hard we strive for perfection. As people we are flawed, and for some reason we like to point out each others flaws as well. Sometimes we choose to judge a person by their appearance, occupation, or their lifestyle etc.
I want to know what made us think it was okay to judge other people, when we ourselves are not even near perfect. I think our constant surroundings being the media and a society filled with judgement has an effect on us that causes us to be judgemental as people. John 17:16 says,

"They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world."

We are called to live in this world but to not be of it. This simply means that we are of course physically present, but we are not called to follow the ways of this world therefore to not be of it. This means that we are meant to be different then other people, we are meant to be unique. We are not supposed to judge others, because why judge others flaws when we ourselves are incredibly flawed. So this goes back to my original question who are we to judge? We were never meant to be the judge of people. We made ourselves judges. We are called to love others radically and with a regardless love. We have are all different:  different cultures, different interests, religions. We all bleed the same and we all need love from others. We all have all fallen short, there is no arguing that. So we need to start thinking before we judge someone else and check ourselves, "The last time I checked I've messed up countless time." So why would we judge someone else when we have messed up countless and billions of times. We are going to screw up even more. But our mistakes and flaws are covered by a flowing grace and love.

So the final question is how do we stop ourselves from judging others; there's no guarantee that we will never judge a person again. We must ask for help with our ways and we need Gods help to become the person He wants us to be. Our mindset has a lot to do with it, once we understand that we are all flawed as people, including yourself and I then we can slightly begin to grasp that we are all equally imperfect. There's nothing to do to change that, the only one that sees us as perfect is Jesus because he accepts us as we are. So try these little tips when you go to judge another person: say to yourseld, "I am equally flawed", understand everyone's different and unique in their own way, Jesus considers us beautifully flawed, we are accepted, show others love.

P.S. I will be posting more because I'm off of school for the holidays and will have more time to write. You can connect with me through my media as well, feel free!
constantly love & grow.
